Many families in the area target a successful application to selective schools such as Eltham College or Colfe’s, which require a high level of proficiency in verbal reasoning and reading comprehension. My English tuition for these assessments targets the high level of accuracy needed for multiple-choice ISEB papers and other entrance exam formats. I help students formulate detailed and perceptive answers to comprehension questions, ensuring they are comfortable with the specific requirements of the assessment process. Significant time is also spent on the creative writing needed for written assessments, where pupils learn to use tools such as onomatopoeia to bring a story to life or sibilance to create a sinister atmosphere.
